Lossen the two bolts on the motor mounts [not the ones on the engine
directly].  Undo the drive shaft bolts on both ends.  Remove the tranny
tunnel.  Remove the two nuts on the tranny mount that hold the mount to the
tranny.  Put a jack under the tranny and jack it up as high as you can [may
need to manipulate the tranny mount].  This should get the tranny high
enough that the drive shaft can come out below it.  Been there, done that.
This is all from [relatively recent] memory.
