I once asked J K Jackson about tube shock conversions. J K has one of  the 
fastest TR6's in the US, and it still has lever arms. It was his contention 
that the car was engineered for levers, and that levers could be modified to 
provide excellent performance while not stressing the frame. His words echo in 
my mind as I read about these frame cracks.
