I have the transmission put back in my 76 (has J-type). I left the
interior out, bolted in my seat and went for a spin. It shifts smooth,
OD works, etc. But now I have a rattle. It sounds almost like what a
fan blade sounds like when it hits something. It does not occur on
acceleration at all, only if I let off the gas and the car starts to
slow down. Only modification is a Gunst bearing, from the original
batch a couple of years ago.
Any ideas before I rip it all back out again? Time to ship the whole
mess off to John Esposito??
