I had the same problem in my TR250 to which I had fitted the twin pipe sustem
you mentioned. Iwas unable to tuck the mufflers high enough because the middle
pipes have a slight kink at the end, and because the polished tips are angled
steeply up, hitting the rear valance and therefore staying fairly low below the
car, not to mention not looking right. My solution was to cut the tips from the
mufflers at about 1 inch from the weld, and rewelded them parrallel to the
muffler but on a higher plane because of the initial angle, removed the bracket
and rewelded it on the opposite side (below) then flipped the muffler upside
down now having a lower tip parrallel to the muffler (my friend is a great
welder). The middle pipes were made from scratch with the same 2 bends as
original but keeping 1 flat plane, it previous had kinks. I found a Meineke
that did it for $100 from steel not SS. I am now happy with the fit and they
sound great.
