Hi all,
I'm in the middle of rebuilding (my first) differential. It's a later
model unit with a crushable spacer. I have replaced the inner axle shaft
bearings , sun & planet gear spacers & washers, the pinion & axle seals.
The diff side carrier bearings are good as well as the pinion bearing. I
have not actually removed the pinion, can I just reinstall & torque the
pinion nut to spec being careful not to crush the spacer or is this not
possible or recommended.
I would prefer not to disturb the pinion/ring gear setting not having
the proper tools or experience to set it correctly.
