If I had the opportunity to purchase an NOS rubber seal, would this be 
something I should take?

Of course rubber dries out and degrades over time, but I wonder how the 
rubber will be if it is packaged up and probably has never seen daylight in 
20 years.

Does anyone have experience with NOS rubber seals?
