John---Some owners like the knowledge that their new head gasket didn't
shrink after a given amount of run time, so they retorque these bolts.
Usually by backing off the nuts and then coming at them again. I have
prbably done a dozen head-offs and never found it necessary to do this
chore twice. (Never a failed gasket, nor a stretched bolt) I go with the
max. 80# figure and that's it. The modern Fel-Pro gasket claims it is
not necessary to retorque. Apparantly the ones sold by our TR parts
suppliers are just as worthy.
