I think its a matter of personal preference. The only reason I would
lube them would be to protect them from rust. I would probably stick a
light layer on them. Of course they will instantly become coated with
brake dust one way or another. My two cents, others may have different
opinions.

Reworking my rear brakes today. Ther retaining clips for the rear
brake cylinders are bare metal. Do these need to be lubricated or
treated before putting them in place?
