Gary:
The slave can be honed, using a $5 "bottle brush" hone from any
auto parts store. Mine had some pitting from corrosion, which cleaned up
very nicely with 20 sec of honing.
The master is aluminum. If it is galled or chewed up, honing is
problematic as the hone will rapidly clog. You can try to polish it a
bit with some 600 grit paper or perhaps some steel wool, but only slight
imperfections can be cleaned up. Resleeving or a new MC would be in
order in that case.
If the cylinder walls are in good shape, you need do nothing
except clean, lube with brake fluid, and reassemble with the new bits.

Subject: More clutch hydraulics
Gentlemen,
For the purpose of rebuilding my 6's clutch master and slave cylinders,
I'm
considering Victoria British rebuild kits. When rebuilding these
cylinders,
do they require honing or any special tools?
