Hey folks:
If any of you have been lusting after an overdrive, there is a
complete kit for sale on eBay:

The seller has a reserve on it (have no idea what it is). The
nice thing is that this kit includes the adapter for the older style
frames, so you can put a J-Type on your '69, as long as authenticity
doesn't bother you and your tranny is CD20282 or later (remember, the CC
series trannys came LATER than the CD series). It includes the mainshaft
and tranny adapter, gaskets, switches, plinth, angle drive, speedo
cable, etc. No directions for installation and there is one short wiring
harness missing (available from Moss).
From studying the picture, it looks like the OD is the "short
output flange" style from a Volvo, which means you will need to locate a
Volvo "long output flange", or a real TR output flange. It also means
you will need to calibrate the speedo when you are done, probably by
installing an 18 tooth spitfire OD pinion. The seller doesn't mention
the history of the OD so you might need a rebuild, or not.
The most complete deal I have ever seen, unless you get the kits
from Quantum (You need two different kits from Quantum for a conversion,
totaling about $1,500). If you buy from Quantum, the OD is completely
rebuilt and has a warranty.
Just thought I would mention this if anyone wants an overdrive.
There are a number of bids in on it already, but it is only up to $103
at the moment.
