Russell,

If you removed the slave cylinder, check to see that you put it back in with
the fitting for the hose on the bottom. The bleeder valve must be on the top
of the cylinder so that the air in the cylinder rises to this point to be
expelled.

The other issue that occurs to me is that one of the connections is not
airtight.
