For the visor, you will need to bend the visor arm up slightly
such that the tip is at the same height as the rubber holder. Mine used
to do this all the time until I bent the arm slightly upwards. This was
the only way I could figure out how to adjust it.
As for the self loosening latch either the male portion, the
female portion or both may be worn excessively. Before you go replacing
them however, I would suggest that you remove the female portion and
check for dirt, goo, glue, or whatever that might be under it that would
keep it from fully seating against the windshield frame. If that is OK,
reinstall it and remove the male portion of the latch. Assuming it looks
to be in decent shape, try placing a thin washer on each mounting screw
between the latch and the soft top frame. This will raise the latch, in
effect shortening it and will result in a tighter fit.
This is a bit of a hack, but an acceptable one IMHO.

        Cheers,

        Vance

Subject: loose visors and driver side top latch

hi list,

When i drive my 1974 TR6, the latch that holds on the top keeps rattling
and coming loose, thus loosening the top from the windshield. This is
only
on the driver side. (This is the swival arm that holds the convertible
top
to the top of the windshild). The passenger side stays pretty tight. I
had
this prob. b/4 restoration, and am disappointed that it is still
happening
even w/the new top.

Is this a common problem? Anybody dealt w/this, or is it just my car?

Also, the driver side visor keeps bouncing out of its rubber holder when
I'm driving the car, even tho these parts r new, too. Is this also a
common problem? Anyone got some experience w/this or a solution?

Thanks for help.
