Thankyou for bringing me up to speed on the misinformation in the Bentley
manual. It explains why my TR would barely run when setting the dynamic timing
to
the bentley specs with the vacuum retard undone. I finally just blocked the
vacuum off and set the timing to 4 degrees BTDC. When weather permits I think
I'll try 10 degrees BTDC and see if it pinks. By the way I installed B1AQ
needles as with my mods it was running lean even with the B1AF needles set at
full rich. Now I get a nice light brown color on the plugs. Power really
comes
on at 3500rpm and climbs past redline. If I can get a handle on the timing I
think she will really scoot.
