Jim, it depends on what you want to do with your car on the tires. The
Vredestein tires are very good although you did not say what level of
performance
you are looking for or which level of Vredestein you are considering. Sure you
can slap cheaper tires on there and be fine if all you are going to do is
cruise around town or trailer it to a show. If you plan to DRIVE your car and
take it on trips why risk things with a cheap tire?
On the carpet Victoria British has an installation booklet for TR 6 they will
send for free. There is not all that much to installing carpet. Most of the
kits are precut. Just pull out your old set and match it up to the new set.
Note where it is glued and where it has snaps and get after it.
