Adam,

Replace, if you haven't already, all of the "bullet splices" in the
electrical system.  They're cheap and an easy way to stop future
electrical problems

After struggling with getting my windscreen and dash apart I have
finally
succeeded thanks to everyone's advice.  Is there anything I should do
while
I have it apart?  I'm replacing all the dash padding, wood and the
windscreen gasket.
