Not to mention the fire hazard, too!

I have had success by applying the Thunderbird elixir directly
to the frozen part in question.

Just be careful you don't spill any on the car, as it quickly
removes paint. =:-o

Richard & List:

I guess I was pretty fried when I sent the email list night. Yes, I
meant to say I was trying to remove the tie rod ends. The Thunderbird
DID help calm me. (It also keeps me reasonably regular!)

My next step will be to get some real penetrating oil on the assembly
and let it soak some more. Following that I'll try heating the steering
arm with my torch and then try tapping it free again. I'm not inclined
to use the big f-ing hammer as I almost always end up destroying the
part and hurting myself, thereby requiring the application of more
healing Thunderbird elixir.

After I get them off I will probably go ahead an mount new tie rod ends,
too, though I am desperately trying to avoid "mission creep" in this
project. Still, while the sucker is apart I might as well do it.

I continue to learn from you good people! Thanks for tolerating my
ramblings.

Jim
