Listers,
The last I knew Jim Swarthout lived in Dunedin, Florida which is in Pinellas
County. I assume this is where the valve cover purchasers sent their money.
If so, the appropriate agency to complain to is the Pinellas County Sheriff's
Office (PCSO). I would suggest that whoever came up with the list of the 25
people in the Valve cover deal collect the names, addresses and how their
payments were made and submit them as a group to the PCSO. They are much more
likely to take seriously a group of 25 complainants if they come in all at
once. Once all the information is collected it should be submitted to the
Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, Economic Crimes Unit, PO Box 2500, Largo, Fl.
33779 along with a narrative of what happened. Just off the top of my head it
sounds like this could be considered a scheme to defraud. Below is a copy of
an e-mail I sent to Jim yesterday concerning this matter with an attachment of
the last 6 pack digest messages containing the list of victims. If
Jim hasn't resolved this matter satisfactorily by the time all of the
information is collected I suggest you pursue your complaint witrh the PCSO.

Jim,
Have you seen this? According to this guy "Jim" on the Six Pack Net, 25 people
have paid for your valve covers but have not yet received them. They say
they'r going to go to the Florida Attorney General. If they do he will send it
to my office (the State Attorney's Office ) for investigation and/or
prosecution. It sounds like they have a case that could warrant prosecution.
It would be a lot simpler for everyone if you would send them the valve covers
or return their money.
