I wondered the same thing as you can coat anything and everything in the
engine. A bit extreme maybe, but certainly it could help in a few areas, right?
Well, after asking around what came out of this is these coatings are most
commonly used in new race motors that do not have time to break-in like a
street motor. It has to go right out and give all its got straight out of the
box. Eventually the coating wears thin but by then it has done its job.
For a street motor? It sounds like there are better ways to spend money on
performance improvements.
