Could use some help on this one. I am presently rebuilding three stromberg's.
I have new shafts, bushings and seals. After removing the shafts, I see that
the shaft hole in the carb body appears to be part of the body. No old bushing
to remove to install a new one. Is this the norm. Do you have to bore a new
hole to fit the new bushing? Buckeye and Haynes lends no help on this. I was
going to have a machine shop do the removal of the old and install the new.
Now it looks like they only have to bore and fit a new one. Is this correct.
As a side note, has anyone converted the carbs with no choke springs to choke
springs?
Any help is appreciated.
