Wouldn't it be a good thing to keep the smog equipment on if you were to swap to a more modern engine..... Its often not that simple. Where do you locate the exhaust cats under the car (hey make sure they don't set the carpets on fire). Likewise, where do you mount the various computers? Do you wire it all up yourself, do you try to use the donor car wiring harness - what do you do? Will the stock intake plumbing fit under the hood? The list goes on and on.....
