Engine lift

I'm planning on pulling my engine on Thanksgiving and need advice on engine
lifts and stands.  What have people used with regard to tilt or no tilt and do
you go out and buy it or rent it.  My local rental place has one unit that
doesn't tilt.  I plan on pulling the engine and transmission combo if this
makes sense.  If someone in the MA/Boston area felt like loaning there's, that
would also be great.  Thanks
