Greg:
As was pointed out to me, I was mistaken in the year that EGRs started
to be
installed (oops). The 74 model year is apparently the year the EGR started, so
the
likelihood of it being the result of a model switchover is nil. The DPO most
likely
simply disconnected it in the vain hope of getting more power.
After looking at all the details various people picked out, it would
seem that
this car is some sort of hybridized monster. The bastard offspring of the
mating of
a '72 with a '74, so to speak. It would seem there is very little on the car
left
from the original 72, except the seats, fascia and commission plate.
I am sure that it is a nice driving car, as the owner claims. However
it's
resale value is much lower (?) because it is such a mess in terms of
authenticity.
At least, that is how I would feel about it....
Cheers,
Vance

Is it possible that as this is a very late 72 (CC85176 out of CC85737) that
it got the 73 EGR sans pipes arrangement in the switchover to 1973?
