Diff seal replacement help

Hello listers,
Sorry it's been a while since I've posted. Got caught up working on the TR8.
I am replacing the seals in my TR6 rear diff and have trouble getting the
side flanges off the splines. We used a gear puller and they came out a
little. Sprayed lube and still no luck. Even wapped it with a hammer
slightly and no luck.  What's the trick with these??
