sway bar bushing mounts

I am going to replace the sway bar bushing clamps on my blue money pit.  The 
car has been repainted so the old clamps are body color (or should I spell it 
colour).  Does anybody out there know if the clamps were originally body 
color, unpainted, or some other color?  Thanks for your help
