I'm having a problem with the starter on my 73 TR6. Of late, any time
the car sits for a day or more, I have to whack the starter with a
wrench a few times before it will operate. The wrench whacking has yet
to fail to wake up my starter but, its rather annoying. I replaced the
solenoid thinking perhaps there was a dead spot in the solenoid but that
didn't help. While replacing the solenoid I checked all the wiring to
make certain I didn't have a loose connection but that doesn't appear to
be the problem either.
So, what's next? Do I need to shell out the $$$ for a new starter?
