6. Clean and relube the spline with fresh grease. Dirt here can cause some
real interesting problems

Curt---The outer axle U-joints are the easiest to get to. With no
service manual to guide you, you can do the following:
1. Remove road wheel
2. Remove the strap that fastens the "gaitor"-like boot to
the outer axle shaft.
3. Remove the brake drum (sometimes it's necessary to back off
on the brake adjuster)
4. Remove the six bolts that secure the axle hub to the aluminum
trailing arm.
5. Wiggle the axle out thru the opening between the brake
shoes.
After changing the 'joint and re-installing this shaft, note that there
is one key in the axle spline larger than the rest. Find the
corresponding mate to this in the part that wasn't removed.
The above is from memory. If I missed a step it will hopefully be
obvious when the parts are in front of you.
