Mark---Interestingly, I've noticed and read where some of the later
('74--'76) sixes typically run close the quarter mark on the temp gauge.
I don't know what the "real" temp is at this point, so maybe someone can
check theirs with a thermometer and let us know.

Any chance you've installed the new one upsidedown? Easy enough to do.
What was the temp rating on this one?
