Mark, Evan emailed me your question and thought I might be able to lend
you some assistance - you will find the Triumph community to be a big
family. Unfortunately, I don't know squat about Webers, BUT I do have
some ideas for you.
First, there is a guy in the GTA who knows Webers very well. His name
is Mike Munson and you should consider emailing him about your issues.
Mike's a terrific guy who has been a great technical resource to me, and
he has extensive experience with Weber carbs.
Second, I don't know if you are familiar with the two Triumph email
lists, but I can't express how valuable a resource they are to Triumph
owners. Hundreds of Triumph enthusiasts spread across the planet, and I
guarantee that somewhere someone will be able to pitch in - usually much
more than that.
The two lists are the "big" Triumph list which comprises all Triumphs,
and the 6-Pack list.
Go to the following link for the "big" Triumph list:

6-Pack: http://www.6-pack.org./
Hope this helps, and we'll see you at a GTA event soon.

Ashford,
If you know anyone that might be able to give a tip or two to this guy
that would be
great.

Subject: Question about your 6
I have a 72 6 that I just installed a set of Weber DGVs. I was looking
around the net for info on these carbs with a TR6 and I found your site.
Did you have any issues when these were installed? The problem I'm
having
is that they hesitate when I first give it gas, sometimes backfires
through
the carb. It sounds like a vacuum advance issue, however the 72 only has
what appears to be retard. I noticed that your site says that you
modified
/ tuned the distributor. Any feedback would be great! Thanks! Mark
