Grille medallion silver or gold?

I took my grille apart on my 76 TR6 to clean and paint.  I ordered a new 
TR6 sticker for the center medallion from moss.  The new one has the TR6 
in silver on black.  My old, a bit faded, looks like gold on black. 
 Could it have just turned a gold color with age?  If it is supposed to 
be gold, where would I get one?   Thanks in advance.         John
