I found that of the 2 holes in the ignitor module (not the adapter
plate, which has 2 posts onto which the ignitor module sits...), the
right side hole allows for 2-3 mm of travel- towards or away from the
installed magnet sleeve. I anticipate that there may be an optimum gap
distance, which may account for your >2000 RPM missing. I've got a call
into the company for comments regarding your symptom and my suspicions
that module-sleeve gap may factor in on performance.
I'll report back as I hear from Pertronix. Anyone care to comment
further?

it, heard similar stories about them also.
