Thanks for the help. I actually ordered the three piece kit from TRF that
had the rear deck and the forward sectons and the underbracing and I wish I
had never bought it. I didn't need the underbracing and it would have helped
having it to align the deck and I have had to cut and reweld every seam but
one. One side of the dog legs was ok the other was impossible to even a
casual glance and I was not happy when I received it or the fact that the
return shipping via UPS was impossible due to the size. I have now got a
good fit on the doglegs to the rear deck but the crispness of the bends
bothers me more than you appartenlty and I still don't know what to do about
it. I haven't welded anything to the inner quarter panels and as usual the
two $50 piece of s#$t parts are holding me up. I actually talked to John at
TRF and told him I'd pay $200 a piece for doglegs if they'd make ones that
actually fit. It sucks that this is one of the worst rust-prone areas on
these cars and the parts are the worst fit. It would seem like with a little
quality control these could be improved greatly. The bend beging overly
rounded seems like it would be easily remedied.

The dog legs I purchased from Rimmer Bros, left something to be desired on
the fit, probably the only ones available.
The problem areas for the fit of the dog leg are- 1) the crispness of the
bend to the quarter panel, 2) the horizontal section that mates to the rear
deck is to wide and, 3) the angle of the bend to where the top fit to is
wrong.

I didn't do anything about the crispness of the bend as I didn't feel it
was that noticeable. What was really irritating was where the dog leg fit to
the rear deck was too wide and the angle up to where the top fits was off.
So I looked around for any alternatives and found none. So, I put my head to
the grind stone for a while to think of a solution. The only possible way to
me was to cut (sweat, sweat, eeekk!) the dog leg (see link above, or ask and
I'll send a higher res. photo) at the angle and closed the gap of the slice,
then tack weld it. Check fit and angle, if acceptable weld it completely.

I hope this helps you out.

PS, you aught to try fitting the rear B-post, now there's a F*^&%ing
nightmare.
