I just received a response from my catalog request to Magnet Paint. They sent
a piece of metal brush-painted with their chassis product. One is able to bend
the metal without affecting the paint at all. It's about $65 per gallon vs the
$130 or so for POR-15. I haven't decided which to use yet.

Bob or list:

Is it anything like POR. Does anyone have any long term experience(more than
a couple of years) with either product. I have always hoped for a easier
solution as I am from the old school of remove it all,and use a two part
paint, or it will resurface.

Thanks Brooks

Listers,
I heard of a new product mentioned on a TNN cable
program called "TRUCKS". A rust killing paint designed
for frames.
It is made by Magnet Paint and is called "chassis saver
paint" Far as I can tell, it comes in qt. and gal. sizes.
It chemicallly bonds, sealing out any kind of moisture or
oxygen. You can literally paint over a rusty surface. It
dries extremly hard, but remains flexable, so no
cracking, chipping, flaking or peeling, and is impervious
to gasoline, saltwater, acid, and on and on. I'm going to
see if I can find a web sight. Maybe I can save the TR6
from the iron worms.

Back to the garage,
