Mark-I have had the same problem, but just on one side. A groove in the
rotor, changed the rotor and the groove reappeared. I just chalked it up to a
rock. The groove was about 1" from the inside. Dick's response got me curious
enough to investigate. There is a cut out on the dustshields that provide
clearance for the trunnion bolt-bolt head on one side, castellated nut with a
cotter pin on the other. It looks like the cotter pin&nut was contacting the
rotor on full lock. The solution is to adjust the steering stops on the
trunnion to prevent contact and to bend the tails of the cotter pin close to
the nut.
