Securion seatbelt reinforcement plate

I am interested in buying the Securion seatbelts from Victoria 
British.  They are on sale for $49 each till this Friday.  
The catalog says that you also need to buy reinforcement plates.  3 
pair at $20 a pair.  $60 bucks, ouch.
I have a '72 with lap belts.  I do have the seat belt bolts on the 
wheel well.
Do I need these reinforcement plates?
