this is a favorite topic, since EVERYBODY has the same problem. I think the
consensus is to disconnect the clevis pin from the clutch linkage and then
unfasten the clutch slave cylinder so it can be moved out of the way,
preferably without doing anything dramatic enough to make the plastic hose
break ... 

Also, make sure you remember which side of the bell housing the cylinder is
mounted to, so you don't put it back in the wrong place, upside down, etc.

If clearance is still a problem, you can sometimes gain a bit by putting a
jack under the engine and raising it a fraction, but make sure not to put
your fingers anywhere they'd be squished if the jack slipped.

I just bought the spin on oil filter replacement from TRF and am trying to
put it on.  Well I haven't got that far because I can't figure out the best
way to remove the old one. It looks like removing the slave cylinder is the
way to go but I'm concerned about fluid leaks in doing so.

Any suggestions?
