One other thing to consider,

Undoubtedly the reason that several people have had good results with a
mix of parts is due to cylinder volumes and piston surface areas.

For example:

Assume a set-up where the master cylinder has a piston surface area of 1
square inch and the corresponding brake caliper piston has a surface
area of 3 square inches.

100 psi generated at the MC will give 300 psi at the Caliper...then add
the mechanical advantage due to the position of the actuator rod in
relation to the pedal length from the pivot point!

With a simple set of tests it should be easy to come up with a practical
combo that would offer the same braking power with the same pedal
effort, without the booster.
