If any overseas lister is interested, on Friday May 23, 2003 - a 100 mile Road
Run is taking place in UK to commemorate the Centenary of The Standard Motor
Company. I am the sole organiser and administrator.
Starting at 11.00 and finishing around 17.30, it uses The Charlecote Pheasant
Hotel as its base at either end of the event. It uses public roads still are
in use today and features many of the 'Test Hills' used by the company in the
1920's and 1930's - so it's VERY AUTHENTIC.
Fred Thomas will attest to this because he and I covered it two weeks ago -
didn't we Fred?
If you are overseas based and plan to be in the UK on this date, would like to
take part, please contact me off-list.
There is NO website!
I have access to one Stag, one TR6PI and a TR7 from a nearby specialist hire
company www.theopenroad.co.uk There could be two, possibly three spare seats
in my own 2000 or 2.5PI.
This event is being announced to UK Standard and Triumph clubs this week for
club mags. However, if any UK lister with a Standard or Triumph car wants to
take part, please contact me off-list for more details
