I'm sure there has been great discussion regarding undercoating in the past.
I'm having trouble accessing the archives. I've removed the entire front
suspension and am in the process of prepping the frame for painting. The
wheel wells have 1/4" of hard thick dry tar-like undercoat. It seems to come
off easily with a putty knife. I hadn't really considered dealing with this,
but it sure is ugly: cracked, peeling etc... Any ideas for removal ease
and replacement options? Under the undercoat is body colored paint. What is
"supposed" to be there?
