Richard----Welcome to the List. I know I for one will enjoy reading your
posts! And your reputation for quality performance parts preceeds you!
While I have never seen a TR6 engine at full song with triple CD's, I
must say that I am surprised that all three air valves would be "wide
open" as low as 5,000rpm. Most of what promped me to think otherwise, is
the formula for CFM. As you may recall, is it:
rpm X displacement / 3456
This turns out to be 264 CFM for the six @ 6,000 rpm, and that would be
if it had 100% V.E. The dual ZS' can easily satifsy the CFM need, and
richening up the mix is not difficult. Some of us are wondering how
three carbs can make much of a total HP improvement, when it appears
that two carbs are not being maxed out.
What else can you tell us?
Respectfully,
Dick Taylor
