I agree Mike, I was thinking of using a lower ratio rear end to compensate for
the lower profile tires. I should stick with 205/60/16's at the least.

I have the 16" Panasports on my car with 205 X 55 X 16 Dunlops on them. The
Panasports look and ride wonderful and the car (Sapphire Blue) looks a lot
more modern with these wheels. As far as tires go, I am satisfied with the
Dunlops but think the 55 series width makes the tires a little too small for
the gearing. They handle great and are fine for autocrossing. I forgot what
the ovealI diameter of the 55 series was but it was quite a bit smaller in
diameter than the original tire. I have OD and observed that I'm turning 150
to 200 rpm more at 75-80. Personally I don't like to run much over 3000 RPMs
on my long trips to the mountains (12 hours) and the tires put me at about
3300 RPMs at 70+. Anyhow, despite the fact that there are very few
performance tires out there with an aspect ratio higher than 55 I personally
recommend the 205 X 65 X 16 which is the size more near the original diameter.
If your OD isn't working the smaller diameter of these tires is even more
significant. I think I saw some Yokahamas at tirerack.com that looked pretty
good and were this size. You'll love the panasports, they are lighter (about
5 lbs per wheel for me) and smoother than the stock wheels.
