Jim

The first step is to fair out the metal, i.e. remove any blemishes, then
copper plate and buff.

But why do they call it triple chrome plate? Yes, I know why.

Jim, you just asked for the first step.

Richard,

If the item was previously chromed, then yes the old chrome must be
strippedb&.but what else is important to a good chrome plating job?

Suppose that the material had never been chrome plated!

Hintb&paint hides nothingb&neither does chrome!
