It all depends on what you do to it on the way to make it a "fun driver". My
motor alone cost me $4000 to have done, but that includes all competition
parts, balancing, blueprinting, porting, polishing, etc. done by a competition
shop. I bought the car for $3500 (it ran every day), but it was hacked up in
every way imaginable.. Full interior kit $1000.. Floors installed, new rockers,
holes TIG'd, frame rail redone where it had been butchered, paint tub $2500.
Transmission rebuild $500. Finish paint when i'm ready will be $1600. Add a
couple thousand on 100's of other parts I have bought and i'm almost done. So I
agree, you can buy one but I think the 8 - 10K to build a real solid TR6 is
very close...
