I find Dave's reply interesting. Three or four years ago I emailed
Redline from their website and explained I had a '75 TR6 with o/d and
someone replied that I should use Redline MTL. I took there advice and
have been very happy with the product. My "J" type o/d engages quickly
and firmly, better than it did with regular 80/90w gear oil. I use their
75w90NS in my diff.

FYI, Reply from Redline tech support. I'll likely give this a try if
it
will assist our dated and often worn trannies.

In the Triumph transmissions I would recommend the MT-90, it would be
close in viscosity to a straight 30 weight motor oil.
The MTL is a little lower viscosity and might not allow sufficient
oil pressure from the overdrive pump at higher temperatures.
