Thanks to all for the advise on removing U-joints. Haven't tryed putting one
back in yet, but I have gotten the old joints out of the axles. The second
one only took about thirty minutes.
While I've got the axle out, I thought it might be a good idea to tap a hole
for a grease zerk at the yoke end of the axle. Although the axles moved
easily and aren't worn, the grease was pretty dry. I don't plan on doing this
overhaul again for quite a while and was thinking that a greasable axle would
be a good idea.
Has anyone done this?
Thanks,
Bud
