Hello list,
Either I seriously underestimated the difficulty of removing U-joints or I
don't understand what "tap" means. After whacking away for about an hour, I
finally got one side of one joint out. The bearing cups on the other side
only go as far as flush with the yoke, then suddenly decide to jump back in.
Can someone describe their technique for getting the cups out, or does it
just take a long time with alot of tapping. Only five (really eleven) more to
go.
I helped my dad replace a U joint some twenty years ago, but don't remember
the details. I do remember learning some new words, though.
Thanks,
Bud Trussell
