DON'T USE a sawsall! The fuel tank is right behind the parcel shelf.

Frankly, putting speakers in that panel might work, but it's far from an
ideal location. Many of us buy speakers like the Radio Shack Optimus
(metal box, 4" woofer/dome tweeter) and mount them to the floor. The good
part is that they can take the 50 watts or so you need to be able to hear
the tunes when at highway speeds with the top down...
