Well, I've done it, and it's lasted 20,000 miles so far with no signs
of giving up the ghost anytime soon. It wasn't difficult, it wasn't
expensive, and there are many others out there with the same setup.
It's all dyno-proven stuff designed by Goodparts. It runs sub-16
second quarter miles. It was my daily driver for over a year, and is
always a pleasure to drive. It's not a 7000 rpm engine, but it pulls
hard all the way to redline, and would keep pulling well past, but I
choose to shift at 5500rpm in an effort to make my engine last.
Recently I've started having some difficulty with idling, but I think
I've traced this to ignition problems (original timing chain needs to
be replaced, need to replace plug wires, rotot, and cap). You don't
need to throw thousands of dollars at a TR6 engine to get a nice power
increase, and I'm not the only one who knows it.
