Here's a tip...Best Buy sells a material that people use to mount their 
speakers on when they install those huge booming stereos that you sometimes 
hear going down the street.  It simply keeps the bass from vibrating the 
metal in the car.  I can't remember the brand name but they can help you at 
the store.  This stuff comes in large sheets and makes a great sound 
deadening material for use under the carpets or behind a firewall.  it also 
provides a lot of heat protection.
