Hugh---I've never found it necessary to retorque head bolts after replacing the gasket. I torque to the maximum specs at the initial installation, and do check the four head bolts outside the valve cover at a later date to see if these will take any more tightening. So far, they have never needed it, so I do not disturb the ones under the rocker shaft. Other owners may find it more comforting to check them all. DT |
