Nelson---I also read somewhere that new pumps should be spun dry for a minute or so to lap in the carbon bearing. The writer held the impeller up against a wire buffer to spin it, as I recall. (You'd think the suppliers would do this for us, if it's necessary) I've replaced two, including my original, and did nothing but bolt it on, the last one installed about 10 years ago. The only "lube" is what ever's in the antifreeze. Dick |
